Trusted services for application issuers

Trusted Service Manager has an essential role in the management of secure element applications on consumers’ NFC phones. Various Service Providers such as banks, transit operators and retailers wishing to have their applications enabled on the consumers’ NFC phones can outsource the service to TSM, which has capabilities to manage and provision applications on behalf of Service Provider as well as offer seamless integration with secure element issuers such as Mobile Operators.

Service Provider maintains still the full control of its own applications and has direct relationship with its own end-customer, since TSM services are offered on business-to-business basis. Range of TSM services include e.g. following:

• Key management
• Downloading of NFC applications
• Personalization of NFC applications
• Life-cycle management of NFC applications, such as locking, unlocking, post-issuance scripting and data updates
• Services related to the management of the mobile application, such as mobile wallet
• Deletion of Service NFC applications.
